Hegira from dust through dawn

Primordial mud, a beginning such
That deserved so little recognition
Replicating forms, in oceans warm
The start of our beauty and cognition
Who would have guessed, when properly pressed
That evolution would create such a wonder
That though times variation, our defining salvation
Was that no event could put our kind under

So hard to grasp, this sysiphean task
That life would develope understanding
But once on the road, our advancment flowed
Our hunger for knowlege so demanding
Implacable minds, assiduous drive
We made tools and then homes and now art
Semiotic signs become expressionist lines
Spoken words now meaning do impart

Now linked are we, to this tumultuous sea
Of universal dust still revolving
With endless potential, and manipulation essential
Our art is also still evolving
But what canvas is this, a paramount trick
Making poetry from our very flesh
With scientist mind, we sculpt so sublime
As biology and art we now mesh
